"The international sanctions have been very hit and miss," says Chris Sidoti. "There haven"t been sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council, but only by individual states or groups of states."So, it"s been relatively easy for many companies to avoid the sanctions, by going through other companies in countries that do not impose sanctions, or dealing with local Myanmar intermediaries."
